The User Management Interface in Rayven.io is designed to help you manage user access and permissions effectively across your applications and dashboards. This guide will walk you through the steps of adding, managing, and organizing users using the interface, ensuring that your teams have the right permissions and can access the right areas of the system.

1. Accessing the User Management Interface

To access the User Management Interface:

  1. Navigate to the Admin Panel from the main dashboard.
  2. Click on the User Management section in the left-hand navigation bar.

2. Understanding the User Fields

When managing users, the following fields are available to input and configure:

  • First Name: The first name of the user.
  • Last Name: The last name or surname of the user.
  • Email: The user's email address. This will also serve as their login identifier.
    • Example: myname@example.com
  • Password: Create or assign a password for the user. The user can later change this if necessary.
  • Permission Level: Assign the appropriate permission level to the user (e.g., Admin, Editor, Viewer).
    • Admin: Full access to all features, including user management and system settings.
    • Editor: Can create and modify content but with limited access to system settings.
    • Viewer: Can view dashboards and reports but cannot modify content.
  • User Group: Assign the user to a relevant user group for easier management of permissions and access.

3. Creating a New User

To add a new user:

  1. Navigate to User Management.
  2. Click the Add New User button.
  3. Fill out the required fields: First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, Permission Level, and User Group.
  4. Click Save to add the user to the system.

4. Assigning Users to Groups

Each user must be assigned to a User Group. This allows for easier permission management and control over which dashboards, workflows, or data the user can access.

To assign a user to a group:

  1. Select the user from the User Management list.
  2. Scroll down to the User Group section.
  3. Use the dropdown menu to select the appropriate group for the user.
  4. Save the changes.

  • Streamlined Permissions: Apply permissions across multiple users in the same group.
  • Simplified Access Control: Ensure that users within a group have access only to relevant parts of the platform.

5. Managing User Permissions

You can easily change the permission level of a user by:

  1. Selecting the user in the User Management section.
  2. Changing the Permission Level to the desired level (Admin, Editor, Viewer).
  3. Saving the changes.

6. Editing User Information

To edit an existing user:

  1. Select the user from the list.
  2. Make any necessary changes to their name, email, password, or permission level.
  3. Save your updates.

7. Removing or Disabling a User

To remove or disable a user:

  1. Navigate to the User Management section.
  2. Select the user you wish to disable or delete.
  3. You can either:
    • Disable the User: Temporarily revoke access without deleting their account.
    • Delete the User: Permanently remove the user from the system.

8. Viewing User Activity and Access Logs

For system security and monitoring, you can view each user’s access logs and activities:

  1. Select the user from the list.
  2. Click on the Activity Log tab.
  3. Review any login attempts, changes made to dashboards, or data access activities.
